Instrument

Before I get to the letter, I need to make an apology. Several months ago, before I learned what limerence was, I spent a few minutes one sad cold winter afternoon desperately wanting to know more about you, so I googled you. NGL, I creeped myself out after just a couple minutes and stopped, never to return down that particular path. But it was already too late, I had learned a new vital piece of information about you: your middle name. It's lovely. On the off chance you really are here, you likely know about limerence so… I hope you don't mind. And I suspect maybe this won't be the first time you'll hear what I'm about to write… I'm not nearly as clever as I portray myself as on TV. But I'm hoping it's the best one.
Say your name. First and middle. Together, in rapid succession. It sounds like the world's most beautiful music instrument which hasn't been invented yet…
I want, with all of my being, to learn to play that instrument.
To sit down behind it, pick up the bow, and wrap my arms around it. Left thumb lightly against the back of its neck… you feel my breath as my fingers put just enough pressure on the strings… press… release… press… release… maybe a slide here, a bit of vibrato there…
Meanwhile, my right hand draws that bow lightly across the strings, making you absolutely growl out the lows, so low you feel it in your bones… Making the highs sing out of you, almost involuntarily…
Together, making music like the world has never known. Lovely. Loving. Together.
